Ne T'en Fais Pas

August 04, 2018 by Bryce Richardson in Music

Before Jessica Paré set the viewers of Mad Men on fire with her smokin' rendition of Gillian Hills' "Zou Bisou Bisou" in 2007, Hills was probably most recognizable to anyone under the age of 50 as one of the dead-eyed droog-groupies from the infamous record shop scene in A Clockwork Orange.

Despite her seriously Anglo name, Hills put out a string of killer tunes in French that helped define the genre that would come to be known as "yé-yé" in the early 60s. In addition to the aforementioned "Zou Bisou Bisou", she did a duet with Serge Gainsbourg, a Zombies cover and this near-perfect slice of mellow groove.
